Diversity at its best and the world at its truest. At least that’s what it felt like when Barbie debuted their very own model with a hijab inspired by none other than Ibtihaj Muhammad– an American fencer. You may know her for winning the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. It’s aptly called the Ibtihaj Muhamad #Hijarbie.

Aside from being a badass and all-around spectacular woman, Ibtihaj became a part of GLAMOUR’s Women of the Year. Hence, giving her the opportunity to work with Mattel in creating her own Barbie that chooses to wear a hijab.

The Olympian worked closely with the Barbie manufacturers to capture every detail to ensure her doll would match up to the real deal.

She told People, “I know that as an athlete I have larger legs — these strong legs that we use, especially fencers, to propel ourselves into lunges — […] So I wanted to have athletic toned legs for sure. I’m also really big to into eyeliner. I like to think of my eyeliner as a shield of power; I not only wear it to the grocery store but I also wear it to compete. I wore it to the Olympic games, so I wanted my Barbie to have the perfect winged liner and also to wear a hijab.”

It’s like she just read our minds! We feel the same way!

Here’s a closer look at the #Hijarbie!

“It’s cool to have Muslim girls in the conversation, to have African Americans as fencers is also really cool. I feel like we’re just shattering all the little glass ceilings here.”

Preach, girl. It’s so important to inspire everyone and the Ibtihaj Muhammad #Hijarbie does just that.
