Popstar!: What message do you have for your family and friends

celebrating with you?

Thank you so much! I mean, people flew and drove and got masks and did amazing things to be here to celebrate with me. I’m so honored, I can’t even...I’m speechless. Thank you guys a million times over from the bottom my heart.

Popstar!: What is your birthday wish for Debby?

I just hope she has a lot of fun. I love the whole theme—the masquerade thing. I like it a lot! Sixteen is a big one! My wish is that she does well on her driving tests and stuff and that all goes well.

Popstar!: Since you already celebrated your 16th birthday, what advice do you have for her for this upcoming year?

It is a biggie, but it’s not like...it’s fun, but it’s not a huge paradigm shift. You’re still the same person and driving might seem a little bit scary at first, but once you get started, like, that’s the big thing for 16 is the driving and I’m actually taking my license test next Wednesday, which is kind of exciting, a little nerve-wracking, but I’m kind of used to the whole idea. That’s one thing people are like “Oh, I’m going to start driving!” It’s nerve-wracking. For some people it’s exciting, for some people it’s, “Oh, I’m going to kill myself!” That’ll come with time that it’ll be fine.

Popstar!: What do you think about the masquerade theme?

I personally like it. It makes the party unique ’cause you can come and you can wear a nice shirt and nice pants and that’s nice, but it’s something special when you’re wearing a mask and you can be remembered sort of by the mask and that’s a whole other accessory, a whole other thing to play with and you can design your whole outfit around your mask. I think it’s pretty cool.

Popstar!: What is your birthday wish for Debby?

My birthday wish for Debby is calm nerves while driving because when I drive, I’m a wreck! If I can impart calmness upon her in L.A. driving, that is my wish.

Popstar!: What do you think about the masquerade theme?

I think it’s awesome!  I mean, you can have a birthday party and Sweet 16 and Sweet 16s are especially special, but to go out on a limb and have people wear masks and stuff—it’s really cool. It’s not just a birthday party—it’s interactive.  

Popstar!: How did you pick your mask?

Actually, a friend had these from something they were shooting and we went over and we had a look at them and I just really liked this one.

Popstar!: It goes really well with your blue eyes.

Yeah! I noticed that as soon as I put it on I was like “wow!”

Popstar!: What is your birthday wish for Debby?

I just hope she has an amazing and great year and that she has a really great time filming the show.

Popstar!: What did you get Debby for her birthday?

I got her a candle, a soy candle, which is like my favorite. I love candles. It’s like jasmine, kind of lavender-y.

Popstar:! Have you ever been to a masquerade party?

I’ve never been  to a masquerade so I’m really excited, this is my first one.

My birthday wish is that she gets the present that she wants and I think she wants a car! [Laughs] So I hope she gets that!

It’s so cool! I’ve never been to a masquerade party before so I’m so excited! I love the theme!

Popstar!: What is your birthday wish for Debby?

Also that she gets a car! [laughs] I kind of want a car—I mean, all my friends who are turning 16, I wish a car for them because I’m not getting a car anytime soon! [Laughs]

Popstar!: What did you get Debby for her birthday?

I got her Betsey Johnson earrings. Yay!

My birthday wish is that she has many more blessings to come to her.

Popstar!: What is your birthday wish for Debby?

My birthday wish for Debby is just that she gets everything that she wants in her 16th year of life. [Laughs]

Popstar!: What did you get Debby for her birthday?

She’s a big Spider-Man fan so I got her a vintage Spider-Man sign that I found at a flea market and a little saltshaker necklace—quirky, but I hope she likes it.

Popstar!: What are you most looking forward to at Debby’s party?

Oh, dancing! That’s my favorite thing about every party is dancing and these shoes will be coming off! [Laughs]

Popstar!: How did you pick your mask and outfit?

I just went to a store and I picked out what I liked and sort of went with the outfit around that. What I was most excited about was I bought the corset for the occasion. I’ve been wanting to buy a corset for a long time!

Popstar!: What is your birthday wish for Debby?

Just to be, you know, more happiness and make more friends and to have a good time. Sweet 16 or being 16 is the best year! [Laughs]

Popstar!: What are you looking forward to most at Debby’s party?

Just seeing everyone. I haven’t seen everyone in so long, like the Sprouse Twins or I don’t know if Brenda is here but I haven’t seen anyone in so long so I want to see everyone again.

JENNETTE MCCURDY

Popstar!: What are you most looking forward to in the party?

Oh, gosh, just to have fun with Debby! She’s very exuberant and enthusiastic so it’ll be fun just kind of dancing around and Ashley [Argota] just texted me. One of my best friends, Ashley Argota is here. She was like, "Where are you J? Where are you?” So I’m like, “I’m coming, A” We call each other by the first letter of our name.  

Popstar!: What do you think about the masquerade theme?

It’s awesome! I don’t have a mask, but I’m picking one up. Debby said that she would have one for me.

CAMILLA & REBECCA ROSSO

Popstar!: What is your birthday wish for Debby?

Camilla: We just hope she has an amazing 16th birthday because you only turn 16 once and you only have your big Sweet 16 once so we hope she has a great time and has fun dancing.

Rebecca: And more success in her acting career. We wish her all the best!

We can’t wait for our 16th birthday so we can imagine how happy she is tonight.

Popstar!: What did you get Debby for her gift?

Camilla: We each picked out a big bag that we thought she would like.

Rebecca: Mine is a purse and the other is a travel bag she can take to the set, she can take when she goes to NY or whenever.

Popstar!: What are you looking forward to doing in the party?

Rebecca: I think dancing!

Camilla: Yeah!

Rebecca: The music sounds fantastic so far!

Camilla: And getting to see everybody’s masquerade masks.

I hope she gets whatever she wants, whatever that may be as corny as that sounds.

Popstar!: Since you already celebrated your 16th birthday, what advice do you have for her for this upcoming year?

Enjoy it because the next birthday is not as exciting. [Laughs] Seventeen is not as cool as 16. Sixteen, you get to drive and 17, it’s like, “Oh, I can go to R-rated movies..." and that’s about it.

This is so cool! Unfortunately, I got here late, but it’s awesome! It’s so fun to see the people that you work with every day all dressed up and in a different element, celebrating together and Debby looks beautiful. It’s fun!

Popstar!: What did you think of Debby’s Sweet 16?

Debby Ryan’s Sweet 16 masquerade-themed birthday party was the loudest, rowdiest, silliest party I have been to all year long, I’m serious! It was a great time and I had a wonderful time on the dance floor. I got to use my ballroom moves and put them to the test and asked a few ladies to dance. It was fun. We were twirling around and doing anything from ballet to hip-hip to ballroom dancing. It was great!

Popstar!: What was your favorite part of Debby’s party?

Just meeting everyone. They were all so nice and it was just a really cool experience, actually. The club got really cool at night and the music was really loud and it was just really cool.

Well, Debby, of course...and Cody and David.

Popstar!: What did you think of them?

They’re really nice people! I wasn’t really expecting that a lot, but they're really sweet and nice.
