Celeste Kellogg’s Tour Diary!

Popstar!‘s L.A. correspondent Cheryl got to go on tour with rising star Celeste Kellogg! Celeste wowed us with her first single, “My Jeans,” and we love her most recent song—a duet with Lemonade Mouth‘s Blake Michael called “Looking in Your Eyes”—so we were superexcited about getting a behind-the-scenes look at her tour!

We couldn’t wait to get aboard Celeste’s rockin’ Gibson tour bus! Cheryl reports that the bus is wicked snazzy on the inside, complete with a jukebox and tons of instruments. Celeste and her band rehearse and have jam sessions all the time on board! (Click HERE for a video tour of the sweet bus!)

Before watching Celeste perform a great set, which included her original songs plus covers of Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You” and Elvis Presley’s “Fools Rush In,” we got to sit down with her one-on-one! Celeste’s love of country music seeps into her own sound, which she describes as “pop country with a little bit of rock and maybe a touch of blues.” And as such, it’s no surprise that when it comes to songwriting, country music stars are her inspiration.

“My two favorites are Alan Jackson and Reba McIntyre. Really country, I know! But I love Alan’s songwriting, he really tells a story with his songs and he has a point behind it. And I like Reba McIntyre’s voice and the way she sings,” Celeste tells us.

We were also surprised to learn that Celeste’s duet with Blake Michael came straight from the Lemonade Mouth star himself! “[Working with Blake] was cool. It was his first time in a recording studio! He was on the set of my music video for ‘My Jeans’ and he told me to write a song called ‘Looking in Your Eyes.’ I said, ‘Okay, I’ll write it if you sing it with me,’ so it ended up being a duet.”

So what’s next for Celeste? More touring this spring, and maybe someday (she hopes) a video with Zac Efron! Celeste told us that Zac would be her dream costar. “That would be pretty cool working with Zac Efron, I think he’s such a great actor,” she says.
