Meghan Markle was truly one breathtaking bride at her nuptials on Saturday (May 19) – and her veil was not just absolutely gorgeous, but carried a special message as well!
At the Royal Wedding this weekend which saw Meghan and Prince Harry exchange “I Dos’, Megan wore a beautiful veil that was rich with meaning. Designer Clare Waight Keller revealed to People what Meghan wanted to communicate through her wedding — including her stunning style.
“The fact that her and Prince Harry will be working a lot in the Commonwealth was something that I thought was really intriguing and could be something built on to be part of the day.
We had different conversations back and forth and I came up with the idea of maybe representing each of the countries, the 53 countries of the Commonwealth, through their flora and fauna. We both loved the story of that. It also meant that every single one of those countries also journeyed up the aisle with her. It was a really poetic moment.
She just loved it, absolutely loved it.”
Flowers from each of the 53 countries in the Commonwealth were hand-embroidered in the silk tulle headpiece. A few personal touches from Meghan were added as well, including Wintersweet which grows in Kensington Palace and California Poppy, the state flower of California.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
