He was arrested for carrying a gun at the airport. And now, David Henrie is saying sorry – and taking responsibility for what happened.

On Monday (September 10), David was arrested at 9:05 AM for possession of a loaded handgun at Terminal 2 at LAX. This was confirmed to People by a public information officer with the Los Angeles Airport Police.

Hours after the news broke out, the Wizards Of Waverly Place and How I Met Your Mother actor released a statement on Twitter to address the incident and issue a public apology.

The 29-year-old star said in his statement:

“I take responsibility for the situation at LAX today. I unintentionally brought my legally owned gun which is registered in my name to the airport. I am so sorry for any trouble it caused, but I am appreciative of TSA’s efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country.

More than anything I am humiliated and embarrassed that this even happened. But am thankful to the TSA, LAPD and all involved today for their kindness and their professionalism during this process.”

David was said to be carrying a loaded M&P Shield 9mm pistol. It was discovered during a TSA screening.

He was immediately detained, and released at 3:02 PM on a $10,ooo bail. He is set to appear in court on October 01.
