Sugar, spice and everything nice – with a dash of zig-a-zig-ah!
Last month, the Spice Girls gave us what we want what we really really want – a Spice Girls reunion tour!
Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisolm and Melanie Brown – a.k.a. Baby Spice, Ginger Spice, Sporty Spice and Scary Spice – announced that they are banding back together to hit the road next May (2019) for their U.K. Stadium Tour.
Yes, we’re all totally psyched. But one question was also on everyone’s minds: Where’s Posh?
In an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV in the U.K., Mel C revealed that they did not invite bandmate Victoria Beckham. “Do you know what is actually quite funny. I saw Victoria recently and obviously we’ve all been in contact, she is still very much a part of the Spice Girls, she really supports us and we really support her. But she did raise the point that she was never actually asked. We just presumed,” she said on the show.
Geri seconded Mel C’s story, sharing, “I spoke to her two days ago, before the announcement and she has said it for years that she just doesn’t want to do it anymore, so we knew that.”
But it’s all good between these ladies. As Emma Bunton explains, “She just didn’t want to do it. She was busy with her fashion and she has moved on. The philosophy of us is that we are a band, on and off the stage and we care for each other, we support each other and we support her and she has been a huge part of our lives and we care about her, so it’s all good.”
And if there’s any doubt, Victoria is totally supportive of her bandmates’ upcoming tour, even posting about it on Instagram.

Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012! I won't be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time! X vb #spicegirls #friendshipneverends
But hopes of seeing the fivesome perform together again may not be totally dashed. Baby, Ginger, Sporty and Scary have said that the door is always open for Posh.
Mel B even joked that “She’s [Victoria] joining us in Wembley on June 14” in an interview on the Heart Breakfast radio show. (We’re totally keeping our fingers crossed she does!)
And, now, Emma has revealed that she has a few tricks up her sleeves, too!
Baby Spice just landed a sweet new gig – as the host of The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition. And it looks like this Spice Girl is gearing up for a holiday filled with sugar, spice and everything nice – and that includes plans to entice Posh to join the rest of the Spice Girls on tour!
As for how she plans to do it, her new hosting gig might come in handy.
“She likes blueberries, so maybe we could do like a blueberry muffin,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Crumble, that’s even better. I’d have to get one of the contestants to do it, I’d get lost.”
We certainly hope Emma can win Victoria’s heart through her stomach! But whether she joins them on stage or not, Posh will definitely be cheering her bandmates on.
“It’s so lovely because the support that we give each other anyway, like, she’s been emailing and we chat and she’s coming to the show,” Emma shared, talking about Victoria. “The four of us feel very strong now as a team, so she’ll be watching. It would be nice to have her there.”
She also revealed that preparations for their tour are well underway.
“We’re creating the stage, we are talking about the set list, and we love that bit and we sit together and we’re like, ‘What are we gonna do for this song?’ and ‘What are the outfits gonna be?’, so that’s where we are at the moment.”
But on whether there will be surprise guests joining them onstage – like superfan Adele, Chrissy Teigen, Emma Stone, and more – she’s totally keeping mum. “I couldn’t possibly say,” she teased.
Congrats on your new show, Emma!
And we’re so hoping Baby Spice succeeds in bringing Posh back into the mix!
