Jennifer Lawrence is watching what the world is saying on social media!
The Hunger Games star has previously spoken out on her stance about not being on social media, “It’s because the internet has scorned me so much that I feel like it’s that girl in high school that I’m like, ‘Oh, you want to talk about her? Yeah I’ll do that!’ Take my hoops off, I’m ready to go,” she told Nick Grimshaw on his BBC 1 radio program back in 2014.
“I’m not very good on phone or technology. I cannot really keep up with emails so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me,” she revealed in the same interview, “I don’t really understand what it is. It’s like this weird enigma that people talk about.”
“It’s fine, I respect that, but no, I’ll never get a Twitter. If you ever see a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that says it’s me, it most certainly is not,” she continued.
It looks like J.Law has had a change of heart – she just confirmed she’s on social media, but, chances are, you won’t get much J.Law-isms from her on that front.
“I’m on it [social media]. But I’m a voyeur: I watch, I don’t speak,” she told InStyle in a recent interview.
“There is always so much backlash. So many people are listening and paying attention, and they have so many opinions about absolutely everything. I really don’t want to welcome that unless it’s absolutely necessary. I don’t want to put myself out there for no reason. Unless I’m promoting something or something really burns my onions, you won’t hear from me,” she explains about her decision to keep mum on social platforms.
The Mother star is famous for saying whatever comes to mind, but she seems to be taking a different approach on sharing her thoughts. “I’m starting to get a little more control over myself. Like, I’m aware that I have a tendency to say whatever pops into my mind. So when I go out, I try to be my own personal trainer and tell myself, ‘Don’t say it.’”
And she’s still keeping her online presence on the down-low – she hasn’t mentioned any of her accounts.
