Kate Beckinsale just wiped her Instagram clean.
On Friday (March 22) morning, Kate mysteriously removed all of her posts on the platform. The account is still active though, with all 2.8 Million followers intact.
Kate has been making headlines recently for her romance with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson. The 25-year-old comedian and the 45-year-old actress met at a 2019 Golden Globes after-party. Just days later, they began sparking romance rumors after they were photographed holding hands as they left his comedy show in Largo at the Coronet in LA.
In January, just as romance rumors between the two began to swirl, when Kate shared a throwback photo of her mother on Instagram. “Dear heavens, Kate. Not Pete Davidson,” one fan commented, to which Kate quipped, “No that’s my mother. Easy mistake.”
In February, when Kate posted a stunning selfie of herself, another fan wrote in the comments, “Disappointed in your dating choice.”
Kate clapped back at the fan’s criticism, responding with: “Fairly let down by your wonky beard but thought possibly rude to say.”
Earlier this month, Kate and Pete were photographed making out at a hockey game – and they were seated right next to Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski. The photo later spawned a meme, where it read “Me,” on Kate, “Guys with problems from childhood who I can ‘fix’ on Pete, and “Wholesome guys with good paying jobs who text back and have no baggage,” on Antoni.
Kate responded to the meme, writing, “Antoni is gay, if that helps clarify at all #queereye”.
On Wednesday, comedian Davide Spade roasted Kate on Instagram. When she shared a video of her playing with an adorable cheetah cub, David took a playful shot at Kate.
“You like them young!” he commented, referencing the age gap between Kate and Pete. “(Now don’t fight back and roast me just quietly stew and take the hit.)”
But Kate didn’t let the comment slide, and replied, “@Davidspade never gonna happen grandpa.”
Although reasons for Kate’s Instagram purge still isn’t clear, it’s not exactly the first time a celebrity has done so. In 2017, Taylor Swift did it to transition to her new Reputation era. Then last year, Blake Lively temporarily wiped her IG account to promote A Simple Favor, her movie with Anna Kendrick.
