Meet The All Ways

Left to right: Austin Massirman, lead vocalist; Pat Heraghty, bassist; Andre Jevnik, drummer; Ron Geffen, guitarist.

We caught up with Austin Massirman, lead vocalist of The All Ways, who were just eliminated from America’s Got Talent and are currently rocking out on the Camplified tour!

Q: We’ve been following you on America’s Got Talent this summer as you made it to the Final 48 on the live shows. What was that experience like and what impact do you think it will have on the band?

A: America’s Got Talent has been an incredible experience! It has had a really positive effect on us as a band, and as people. We’ve made so many new friends and fans that have been so supportive about everything. Going forward, this experience opened our eyes up to a lot of things, and that we need to work harder than ever to keep going with all this great exposure we have been blessed with.

Q: How did you first get started in music?
A: We all began on different paths, whether it was trying to be just like our favorite rock star, or trying to excel at our instrument of choice, we all found our passion for music at a young age.

Q: When did you know music was your passion and what gave you the confidence to really go for it?
A: As a band we knew we had something the first time we all played together in Andre’s basement. Everything just clicked into place when we took all of our big ambitions and put them in one small room – you could feel the intensity. Even when we played on Americas Got Talent, the audience never even saw us before, but right when we started playing people jumped out of their seats and started clapping.

Q: What other acts/bands do you look up to?
A: We have a lot of respect and admiration for Maroon 5, One Republic, Motley Crue, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and Gavin DeGraw (who played at the AGT results show).

Q: Who have you gotten closest with so far on tour?
A: We all have gotten close with each other – we have become inseparable best friends!

Q: Any crazy/embarrassing moments since you’ve started performing and/or really special fan moments?
A: As a band, we have had many crazy moments. One of the wildest things to happen to us was in Virginia. We had gotten off at a random exit to use the rest stop in early morning. After we did what we had to do, we started driving down a windy hill passage, the roads were extremely slippery and I woke up to screaming “NO NO NO NO NO!” When I looked around, I saw that the van was basically smushed against a guard rail that barely separated us from a 500-foot fall down hill. Thankfully, a nice man came and helped us out of the situation, and gave us 20 bucks for the road. Another crazy story that really changed us was our first audition for America’s Got Talent. We played Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” at Hammerstein Ballroom, which seats about 2,000 people. The minute we played that song, the crowd went insane! It was amazing. When the acts were done and the show was over we went outside to go to our car and we got mobbed with fans outside of the theater. We took hundreds of photos with people and everyone was screaming our names. We felt like rock stars!

Q: What do you have lined up after Camplified?
A: The plan for us is to write an album and play as many shows as possible. We are looking to do as much press as we can for the band and take every opportunity we can get. Since we were on America’s Got Talent, many new doors have opened for us and we are excited about that.

Q: Where can your fans find you on the web (twitter/youtube links)?

The All Ways are the best! Austin you rock! You guys have a lifelong fan in me :)

  2. Sam says:

    Never heard of them

  3. CDFan says:

    They’re really not that good.
Their AGT performance was very mediocre at best. None of the members played with true musicianship and let’s not get into the pitchy singing…

There are really good! CDFan should check out their original music as they are better there than at covers however they are great at whatever they do! I’ve met Austin (The lead singer) and he is such a nice guy. Not only is he nice but he has a great voice.

      • CDFan says:

Star: I’ve heard their original music and it only strengthens my point. It’s so over-produced that I can’t even hear any of the members actually play. Also, there is an extensive use of auto-tune. They all are probably really great people, but I wouldn’t say the same for their musical abilities.

        • Star says:

CDFan: Compared to the excuses for music on the radio these guys are great. And to your comment on their lack of musicianship I ask are you a musician? Even if you sing songs in your bedroom late at night and dream of being famous the question remains, who played on national television? The amazing and talented All Ways Band or some random kid who is a fan of CDs? Also how can you speak to their musicianship when you haven’t seen them play live or met them? I for one play guitar, I’m not very good but does that not make me a musician? The point is I love playing guitar and I’m passionate about it and people see that and appreciate it. And Austin Massirman is extremely passionate. I know that for a fact, you can see it easily when you know him. Now take the All Ways, say their song Where I Belong, and compare them to Katy Perry,Justin Bieber, One Direction, Kesha, etc and see that the auto tune level in all the songs is mostly the same but the raw talent shines through stronger with the All Ways band than with the rich and famous non-musicians. Are you CDFan living your dream? Unless your dream is to be pathetic and a jerk in comments on interviews with people living their dreams, than you have no right to talk. And they are not probably really great people, they are absolutely amazing people! I know that because not only do I love their music but the Massirman family including Austin are close family friends. Believe me or don’t believe me about that but it’s true. So maybe fine someone else to hate on cause I’m hating on you.

          • CDFan says:

Star: Yes I am in fact a musician. I received degrees in piano performance and music education, which should clear up the assumption that I am a kid. And yes, I am living my dream thank you! I currently teach music to children with autism and other mental disabilities in the Bronx, NY. It’s been a dream of mine since high school and I’m humbled that I’m actually able to fulfill it.

Now onto being a musician, I never commented on their passion, only on their overall performance and individual skills. One can most certainly have passion for something, but that does not mean that they possess the skills or talent to make a career out of it. Furthermore, my post is only an opinion from someone who has played and studied music for the majority of his life. Based on your last few sentences, you’re entire post is extremely biased because of the fact that a bend member is your close family friend. I’ve only seen them on AGT and on the not-so-surprisingly few live videos on YouTube. So please by all means, hate away.

          • Bobby says:

Jaguar, Where I Belong, Not Enough For Me and Dirty Love are such truly outstanding songs. Listening to them could make anybody’s day better :) . MTV really needs to play those songs! I know they’d be smash hits.
And their Rolling In The Deep cover is outstanding.

        • DarthChen says:

CDFan, Andre is the best drummer I’ll probably ever know. Just because you heard them play a simple 2&4 during three minutes rock-pop songs doesn’t mean that’s the limits of their capabilities.

YOU OBVIOUSLY DON’T HAVE A CLUE ABOUT WHAT IS TALENT AND WHAT IS NOT. THE ALL WAYS band is better than what is out there today. They made it to the Live show of America’s Got Talent, they performed in front of 17,000,000 people, YOU DIDN’T…….You are a NOBODY

  4. [...] Camplified rockers The All Ways were recently featured in POPSTAR! Online. The band dished on what it was like to be on America’s Got Talent, their passion for music, some crazy moments in their career, and more! Check out the article HERE. [...]

  5. Dan B says:

This band is great. They were fantastic on America’s Got Talent. The judges loved them thru all the rounds except the live show for which I think the show is fixed. These guys have it all. They are not just skilled musicians, they are great stage performers. I’ve seen them live in NJ and the singer is fantastic….no auto tune so tell the other educated musician idiot CDfan who I’m sure doesn’t know a thing about music that these guys are the real deal. CDfan is just a bedroom musician jerking off. THE All Ways is here to stay and I look forward to hearing and seeing them perform.

  6. shea tong says:

I work at the NJPAC theater and I was there when THE ALL WAYS band was rehearsing for the show. The executive producer, Ken Warwick came on the stage and told the band to change their song to Lady Gaga’s “Telephone”. I witnessed it. They only had a few hours to rehearse “Telephone” before going on stage to perform LIVE. He made them do the song and this band got kicked off because of song choice. I feel awful for them. They were so great.

  7. michelle says:

I kind of like their sound but their name is a little strange…

  8. Sammy says:

THESE GUYS FUCKING ROCK HOLY SHIT!!!
