Pete Davidson has finally broken his silence on his split with former fiancé Ariana Grande.
In his very first on-stage appearance since the ex-couple called off their engagement, Pete addressed his breakup with the No Tears Left To Cry singer.
While co-hosting the Judd & Pete For America event benefiting Swing Left on Saturday evening (October 20) in West Hollywood, California, Pete referenced the split. Here’s what the 24-year-old SNL star said on stage:
“Well, as you could tell, I don’t want to be here. There’s a lot going on. Does anybody have any open rooms? Looking for a roommate?”
He went on to joke about all the tattoos he got dedicated to Ariana that he now has to cover up:
“Um, I’ve been covering a bunch of tattoos, that’s fun. I’m f–king 0 for 2 in the tattoo [department]. Yeah, I’m afraid to get my mom tattooed on me, that’s how bad it is.
So, obviously you know I, we [Ariana and I] broke up or whatever but when me and her first got engaged we got tattoos. And it was like in a magazine like, ‘Was Pete Davidson stupid?’ And 93% of it said yes. So my boy, he was like, ‘Don’t listen to that s–t man. They’re literally f–king haters.’ And I’m like, yeah, f–k that. I’m not stupid.
And the other day we were in my kitchen and he was like, ‘Yo bro. Turns out you were stupid.’
I’m a good guy that just keeps getting kicked in the d*ck. You’re like, ‘Ah, that f–king poor kid. Hope he doesn’t kill himself.’ That’s America.”
IN other Pete-Ariana news, TMZ is reporting that their whole engagement was “hollow” – all talk. Apparently, they never did anything to really seal the deal.
After getting engaged in June, they never went so far as to set a date, choose a venue, pick a wedding dress. The only concrete thing about the engagement was the $100,000 engagement ring.
Ariana has already returned said ring to Pete.
