When she first released that infamous video for “Friday,” Rebecca Black was the girl the Internet loved to hate. But now, after releasing a few singles and showing an amazing amount of grace under fire, we just straight up love her! Yesterday, Popstar! chatted with the budding superstar about her brand new single and music video, “Sing It”!

“My new single is called ‘Sing It’ and it’s a little bit different from anything I’ve done,” Rebecca tells us. “It’s about kind of just being free and letting the music take over you. ‘Sing it from the heart’ is one of the main lyrics, so that’s basically what it’s about, just about letting it go and letting the music encompass you.”

Becs (can we call you Becs?) tells us that while the beachy music video may look low-key and relaxed she was actually supernervous about filming it! “I can tell you that it had me stressed out like the whole week before because of stupid Southern California weather. It was raining the day before and it’s an all-outdoors video, so I was like, ‘It better be sunny that day or I…’ But luckily that turned out well. That would not have been good. Oh my god I was so lucky, I was like ‘Ahh!’”

We have to say, Rebecca looks gorgeous! She is so at ease in front of the camera and is just radiant. We know she is hard at work on her album (which Rebecca confided should be released late summer or early this fall), but if Becs ever has some extra time on her hands we think she should definitely consider a fashion or beauty line.
