A huge congrats to Taylor Swift for winning Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards! This is the second year in a row that Tay has taken home this fan-voted award. After selling out her worldwide Speak Now Tour this year, Taylor was certainly worthy of the honor.

“I want to say to my fellow nominees in this category I respect you so much and I love you,” Taylor said as she accepted the award. “To my band and crew, and everyone who helps me make music and to the fans for voting, thank you for doing this! This is exciting! Thank you! And my family, also my family. Thank you so much for this, I really appreciate it.”

Taylor also gave a shoutout to Kevin McGuire, the New Jersey high school student battling cancer whom Taylor had promised to take as her date to the show. Kevin, backed by his sister and a large online support system, had asked Taylor to be his date to the prom a few months ago. Unable to make the prom but eager to help Kevin, Taylor asked him to join her at the ACM Awards. Unfortunately, Kevin was hospitalized earlier in the week and unable to attend the show. Taylor tweeted, “Just talked to Kevin McGuire. He’s not well enough to join me at the ACMs. Please keep him in your thoughts. I’ll make it up to you, Kevin!” So sweet that even on her big night, Taylor was thinking of others.
