We’re about to head back to the 1989 era!

That’s right, fellow Swifties — Taylor Swift has officially announced that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) will be her next re-recording.

The 33-year-old superstar made the announcement on Wednesday night (August 9) during the final show in Los Angeles amid her Eras tour, revealing that 1989 is indeed the next album that she will be releasing as a re-recording.

Taylor had been dropping hints all throughout the entire show by wearing several new blue outfits. Blue is the official color of that particular era.

She will drop 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on October 27, exactly nine years after the original album’s release date of October 27, 2014. She also revealed that five new songs from the vault will be included in the re-recording.

Taylor wrote on Instagram:

“Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you 🔜! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th.

To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!”

The original 1989 album won Best Pop Vocal Album and the coveted Album Of The Year at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.

The upcoming re-release comes three months after she dropped Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) back in July 7.

Once she released 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Taylor only has two albums left to re-record: Her debut album Taylor Swift and Reputation.
