Celebrities probably get like a ton of DMs from people they don’t really know, but when Lizzo slid into Chris Evans’ DMs, they had the cutest exchange.
Over the weekend, Lizzo hilariously revealed on TikTok that she drunk-DM’d Captain America himself.
“Don’t drink and DM, kids…. for legal porpoises this is a joke,” captioned a short clip revealing the the message she DM’d Chris, with the “Juice” singer lipsyncing to a Tatyana Mitchell monologue.
“The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not going to be able to marry him and honestly it hurts me to the core because damn, Papa, he a rare breed, no comparing. Like Chris…” the audio says.
As for her DM, Lizzo shared a screen shot that she sent Chris a series of emojis a gust of wind, a female basketball player, and a basketball emoji – fans have interpreted it to mean that the “Truth Hurts” singer was shooting her shot with Cap.
But the truth doesn’t actually hurt in this case because, apparently, Chris was totally nice about it. In a later video, Lizzo revealed that Chris replied to her DM. Here’s what he wrote:
“No shame in a drunk DM [kissing face emoji]. God knows I’ve done worse on this app lol [face palm emoji.]”
If you’re wondering what he’s done that’s worse, some fans think that he’s referring to that time he broke the internet when he accidentally leaked a NSFW photo.
Back in September last year, multiple reports came out of how Chris shared a video of him playing Heads Up with his fam on his Instagram Story – the process of which involved a screen recording from his iPhone.
When the video of the game ended, the screen showed his camera roll instead – and…well, the camera roll reportedly contained a bunch of Chris’ photos, the Heads Up video, along with a photo of a man’s privates. The clip quickly went viral – before Chris realized what had happened and took down the original post.
But because the internet is forever, screenshots began circulating around the internet. It’s important to note though that there’s no way of knowing whose body part it was that’s featured in the photo. And, it’s also not 100% clear whose camera roll it was that was captured in the screen recording – even though it had a ton of his pics.
Following the social media blunder, fans quickly showed their support by trying to bury the racy pic with other wholesome photos of the actor – like adorable photos of the Chris with his dog, Dodger. Friends also hopped on the platform to make light of the blunder.
He’s since also addressed the sitch good-naturedly, going on Twitter a few days later to encourage people to vote in last year’s then-upcoming elections.
