Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively are back for round two, and their highly anticipated sequel finally has a name! The follow-up to the 2018 darkly comedic thriller is now officially titled Another Simple Favor and is set to make a grand debut as the opening night film at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, on March 7.

If Blake Lively makes an appearance, it could mark her first major public outing since her It Ends with Us lawsuit. The film’s director, Paul Feig, couldn’t be more excited about the premiere, sharing in a statement:

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be back at my favourite festival in the world, where we successfully launched Bridesmaidsand Spy. I’ve avoided making sequels to any of my films, but these characters were just too much fun not to revisit. To watch our film with the great SXSW audience is a bucket list event that I’ll be able to check off March 7.”

While Feig’s statement hints that Blake and the rest of the cast will be attending, online chatter hasn’t been as celebratory. Some social media users took to his Instagram comments, making jabs at Blake’s involvement in It Ends with Us, where she allegedly re-edited the film against director Justin Baldoni’s vision.

Feig, however, was quick to shut down the speculation, replying, “It’s my cut. There is no other cut. Blake has been nothing but supportive and a dream to work with. She is the best and an amazing collaborator, and I’m her biggest fan. Just wanted to clear that up.”

Looks like Another Simple Favor is gearing up for an exciting premiere, with its director firmly in Blake’s corner.
