There seems to be no love lost between former couple Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley even after choosing to go their separate ways.
Last week, news broke that the pair had called off their engagement and ended their relationship less than a year after they confirmed that they were engaged. Now, the 38-year-old NFL pro is publicly expressing his gratitude and love to his ex-fiancee.
Taking to Instagram on Monday (February 21), Aaron posted a “#MondayNightGratitude” post about “the incredibly special people in my life,” which highlighted Shailene. He sweetly wrote of the 30-year-old Big Little Lies actress:
“@shailenewoodley, thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met, and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life.
Thanks for always having my back, for the incredible kindness you show me and everyone you meet, and for showing me what unconditional love looks like, I love you and am grateful for you.”
Sources have stated that the two “called it quits but remain friends.” They dished:
“They tried to make their relationship work but with busy careers in different industries it was hard to see one another. The two have no animosity toward one another and plan to remain as friends.”
