Are they or aren’t they?
Adele and British rapper Skepta have been sparking romance rumors for months, but while many fans are totally shipping them, their actual relationship status has pretty much remained a question mark to the public.
A recent report claims there may be some development on that front.
“Things have been heating up,” a source told People. “They run in the same circles in London, and she’s having fun.”
The source also touched on Adele’s new music: “There have been major challenges in her life and in the world. She’s working her way around all of that and will introduce it when she’s ready. She’s doing well and feeling terrific.”
However, Adele may have just addressed all the buzz surrounding her personal life and new music. on Instagram with her recent post.
“Had the best time on SNL! Thank you to the most wonderful cast, crew, writers and producers. What a sublime bunch of people you are. Lorne thank you for believing in me! Lindsay my sister for life, Maya my comedy and Mama hero! Plus the so up for it audiences at both the dress rehearsal and live show!” she captioned a photo of her from her recent hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.
“I did it for the joy of it and I hope you got some from it too! Good luck with the election America I love you so much. Look after each other and go easy on yourselves. Happy Halloween!” she added.
Ending the post, she wrote, “I’m going back to my cave now to be the (single) cat lady that I am! Peace out til next year ♥️.”
Fans have been speculating about Adele and Skpeta being an item back in June when Adele shared photos of herself watching her 2016 Glastonbury Music Festival performance on TV on Instagram.
“5 ciders in 👌🏻,” she captioned photos of her in front of the TV in her living room – sporting the gown she wore for her performance in one of them.
Then, Skepta hopped on the comments section – and his cryptic comment on the post got fans buzzing.
“Finally got your Instagram password lol,” Skepta wrote, to which Adele replied with a wink emoji and a heart emoji.
But the two artists have been friends for years. . Back in 2016, Skepta opened up about Adele had helped him navigate through life in the spotlight.
“Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check,” the rapper told Evening Standard in a November 2016 interview. “She speaks to me about how things are going. She’s one of the people I know that, from her [example] alone, you can move in a certain way where you’re not inviting fame. She’s the biggest artist in the world, bro, and you do not see her in the papers [every day].”
Adele also touched on the subject of her new music during her opening monologue on SNL.
“I know there’s a lot of chatter about me being the host. Like, ‘Why is she not the musical guest?’ and stuff like that. Well, there’s a couple of reasons: My album’s not finished, and I’m too scared to do both,” Adele shared, adding, “I’d rather just put on wigs, have a glass of wine or six, and see what happens!”
