There’s been another sighting of a Bennifer reunion – this time in Miami, Florida.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were snapped together during a day out – and J.Lo was all smiles as Ben stood behind her.
And while that is happening, J.Lo’s ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez is out here on Instagram musing about stepping into a “new beginning.”
“I am about to step into a new beginning in my life. Anything that doesn’t serve me is clearly out of my life,” he wrote. “New energy is emerging. New levels are unlocking for me mentally, physically, and spiritually. I am remaining patient and know that this new phase of my life is coming.”
According to a source, A-Rod had been hoping to reconcile with J.Lo after their split – and Ben entering the picture came as a pretty big surprise.
“Alex understands that Jennifer is single, but felt shocked by [her and Ben’s] quick meetup,” a source tells Entertainment Tonight. “At the end of the day, Alex wants Jennifer to be happy, but the way everything has unfolded doesn’t sit well with him.”
However, another source tells Us Weekly that A-Rod hasn’t really been idle since the split – and he’s reportedly been enjoying his “freedom.”
“There’s no holds barred when it comes to who he’s texting, calling, direct messaging, etc. He has more freedom and actually wants to enjoy this time of being single,” the source tells the outlet. “He’s working on building his business in Miami and networking with people in the industry who will bring him and A-Rod Corp more attention.”
Ben and J.Lo go way back – they used to be engaged back in 2002 and had been gearing up to tie the knot. However, just one day before their 2003 wedding, they postponed it, and officially called off their engagement in January of 2004.
After J.Lo and ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez called it quits in mid-April, a source told PEOPLE that “Ben reached out to Jennifer as a friend.”
“He was basically checking up on her,” the source added. “He was single and thought she might be single, too.”
The two have been sparking reconciliation rumors ever since Ben was photographed outside her home in Los Angeles late April. By May 8, they were snapped driving together in Montana during a days-long vacay. And a source told PEOPLE that J.Lo has “spent time with Ben” in L.A.
“They have kept in touch every day since their Montana trip,” the source continues, adding that J.Lo is “doing well” and “seems very happy and excited about her future.”
While neither have publicly spoken out on their relationship status, another source tells Entertainment Tonight that the pair “are having fun together.”
“Jen is loving the attention she has been getting from Ben,” the source said. “Jen and Ben didn’t get along at the end of their relationship years ago. But once their hurt feelings subsided, they were friendly for many years.”
“Now that they’ve fully reconnected, they are having fun together and care about each other a great deal,” the source added.
