Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender are officially parents!
The 32-year-old actress confirmed that she and her husband of three years welcomed their little bundle of joy earlier this year during an interview with People.
The couple never officially announced the pregnancy – the two pretty much kept a low profile amid the pandemic, mostly staying in their holiday home in France. But speculations began swirling in August when they were photographed in Ibiza, Spain – and Alicia was holding a baby.
Reflecting on her becoming a mom, she told the outlet, “I now have a whole new understanding of life in general. That’s pretty beautiful and obviously will give a lot to any of my work in the future.”
She also expressed preferring to keep her pregnancy private, saying, “I think I’ll wait with that one. I’m enjoying finding it out in the moment right now, more than anything.”
Alicia and Michael first met in 2014, starring together in The Light Between Oceans. They exchanged “I dos” in front of family and friends on October 2017 at the La Granja farmstead resort in Ibiza, and spent their honeymoon with a romantic trip in Italy.
The two has mostly kept details of their romance out of the spotlight, but Alicia did open up about life with her hubby back in 2018.
“I feel I’m more happy and content than I’ve ever been,” she told Vogue at the time.
She also praised her husband as an actor, recalling their first time working together in the interview.
“Of course he’d done more films than me, but immediately when we started to work together he was so open to wanting me to chip in new ideas and thoughts,” she shared. “He would be like, ‘I’m stuck; what should I do?’ and I would say, ‘You’re asking me?’ That was such a sweet thing.”
“Life is about a lot more than work, but if it’s also your biggest passion, of course it’s something you enjoy talking about,” she added.
