Amanda Seyfried is reflecting on her early days in Hollywood.
In a new interview with Porter magazine, the 36-year-old star opened up about some very uncomfortable situations she went through as a young actress on set — and the pressure she felt to comply in order to “keep” her job.
She shared:
“Being19, walking around without my underwear on – like, are you kidding me? How did I let that happen?”
After pausing in mock consideration, she stated:
“Oh, I know why: I was 19 and I didn’t want to upset anybody, and I wanted to keep my job. That’s why.”
Amanda went on to say that though she did come out of the pre-MeToo era “pretty unscathed,” she does wish that she would’ve been an up-and-comer now:
“[I] wish I could be coming up now, in an era where intimacy coordinators are an on-set requirement and actors are in a better position to speak up.”
