Amber Heard is confirming what happened to her on the Aquaman films.
In day three of her testimony in Johnny Depp’s ongoing defamation trial against her, she was asked on the stand about work opportunities and how they were affected when her allegations against Johnny came to light.
Amber was asked about the 2018 film Aquaman and how she allegedly had to fight to keep her role as Mera:
“I showed up to work months early and stayed really late to fight to keep the job. I managed to keep it. I was able to keep and make other jobs and eventually made a movie called Aquaman.
I was getting my career back, even though it took a major hit when i got my restraining order against Johnny.”
She was asked about her role as Mera, to which she said:
“It is one of the leading roles. I was the female lead of the movie.”
She also confirmed that her salary for Aquaman was $1 million, adding:
“Yes there are box office bonuses. If it makes a certain amount in the box office you get a bonus.”
Amber then addressed the sequel, Aquaman 2, which is set to drop in theaters in 2023. She revealed:
“I fought really hard to stay in the movie. They didn’t want to include me in the film.”
Amid all the reports that she is only on screen for 10 minutes in the whole sequel, Amber confirmed that she has a “very pared down version” of her role in Aquaman 2:
“I was given a script and given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character… without giving any spoilers away…depicted two characters fighting with each other.
They basically took a bunch out of my role.”
