Amber Heard is stepping back into the spotlight—this time, on stage.
The 39-year-old actress has kept a relatively low profile since appearing in 2023’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but she’s officially making her acting return. It was announced on Monday (June 23) that Heard has been cast in a new play titled Spirit of the People.
The play comes from the mind of Jeremy O. Harris, the acclaimed playwright behind Broadway’s Slave Play. Alongside Heard, the cast includes Brandon Flynn and Lío Mehiel.
The production will premiere at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, running from July 17 through August 3.
“In my theatre era x,” Heard posted on Instagram, sharing a selfie with Harris to celebrate the news.
Heard’s return to acting marks a new chapter in her career—and her theatre debut is one to watch.
