Anne Heche was involved in a horrible car crash and is now hospitalized.
On Friday (August 5), the 53-year-old actress reportedly was involved in a very scary incident in Los Angeles that resulted in her being severely burned. She crashed her car into the garage of an apartment complex, and when bystanders tried to help her, Anne allegedly backed up and drove off. It was then that she crashed into another home.
When that happened, her Mini Cooper car became “engulfed” in flames.
Sources have said to news outlets that Anne is now currently in the hospital and is intubated. According to reports:
“Her condition prevents doctors from performing any tests to determine if she was driving under the influence of alcohol.”
A rep for Anne told ET on Saturday (August 6) that she is in stable condition but suffered burns at the crash:
‘Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers and to respect her privacy during this difficult time.”
The rep also said that the accident remains under investigation.
A public information officer for the LAPD told outlets that at 100:55am Friday, a vehicle collided into a residence located at the address of the incident, but would not identify the driver, describe the car, disclose any injuries, or name the hospital.
According to the LAPD, the vehicle was engulfed in flames and that the driver was then transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said that the solo passenger vehicle in question hit a 738-square foot two-story home, which then caused the structure to be compromised and erupt in heavy fire.
