Taylor Swift has reportedly fallen for another London lad.
Reports broke this week that the recently-single 33-year-old superstar is now dating Matty Healy, frontman for The 1975.
Sources are claiming to outlets that the couple are already “madly in love” – despite only eating for less than two months. An insider said:
“It’s super early days, but it feels right.
They first dated, very briefly, almost 10 years ago but the timings just didn’t work out.”
They added that though Taylor’s breakup with Joe Alwyn was announced just last month, the two had actually ended their relationship in February:
“There was absolutely no crossover.”
If rumors are to be believed, the pair is ready to go public with their romance at Taylor’s upcoming Era’s Tour show in Nashville this weekend:
“Both Matty and Taylor have been touring over the past few weeks, so it’s been a lot of FaceTiming and texting but she cannot wait to see him again.”
Taylor and Matty were briefly linked back in 2014 when she was spotted rocking out at one of the band’s shows. The two remained friends throughout the years, and he revealed that he collaborated with her last November for her latest album, “Midnight.” None of their songs made the cut, but he apparently made a great impression on her.
Fans however are laughing off the rumor, and an interview that Matty gave back in 2016 has resurfaced where he made comments about why he would not date Taylor:
“I feel like I’m not very good at relationships… And the reason I mention that it because if I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift the first thing I would’ve [thought was] ‘F—king hell I am NOT being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.’
You know, F—K. THAT.
That’s also a man thing, a de-masculinating, emasculating thing.”
Afterwards, he apologized for his comments in a string of tweets, ending with:
“Now if you want to talk about Taylor Swift, that is easy…. Since she came to my show in December of 2014, I would say that 90 per cent of journalists that have interviewed me have asked about either her as a person or what our ‘interaction’ was like. I have said on countless occasions that I found her to be one of the most gracious, hard working, creatively gifted, and beautiful women that I have had the pleasure to meet. I personally have a lot of respect and admiration for her. Why would I not?
I didn’t even date Taylor, but the media’s incessant and brutal obsession with her has meant that even a guy who DIDN’T DATE HER has been so battered by their never-ending questions that he’s inevitably said something that can be lifted and moulded into something that resembles ‘shade’. It’s really sad.”
