Armie Hammer is finally opening up about the shocking accusations that he engaged in cannibalism and sexual assault. The 37-year-old actor, known for his roles in films like Call Me By Your Name and The Social Network, has consistently denied any criminal wrongdoing since the allegations first surfaced.

Now, with a few years of reflection behind him, Armie is sharing his thoughts and feelings about the tumultuous period in his life. Speaking candidly on the Painful Lessons podcast, he offered a glimpse into his journey of self-discovery and healing.

“Whatever it was that people said, whatever it was that happened, I’m now at a place in my life where I’m grateful for every single bit of it,” Armie revealed. “I’m actually now at a place where I’m really grateful for it because where I was in my life before all of that stuff happened to me, I didn’t feel good. I never felt satisfied.”

This period of introspection has led Armie to some profound realizations about himself and his life. He admitted that before the accusations, he was struggling internally, despite his outward success. “I never had enough, I never was in a place where I was happy with myself where I had self-esteem,” he said. “I never knew how to give myself love. I never knew how to give myself self-validation but I had this job where I was able to get it from so many people that I never had to learn how to give it to myself.”

The allegations and the public scrutiny that followed were undeniably challenging, but they also served as a catalyst for Armie’s personal growth. He shared that he has since joined a 12-step program, which has been instrumental in his recovery and self-improvement journey. The program, often associated with addiction recovery, has helped him address some of the deeper issues that were affecting his life.

Armie also didn’t shy away from discussing the severe impact the accusations had on his mental health. He spoke openly about the dark times he faced, including moments when he contemplated taking his own life.
