Over the weekend, reports came out that actress, Tanya Roberts passed away.
Multiple outlets reported that the 65-year-old actress, who’s best known for her roles as the Bond girl in 1985’s A View To Kill, Julie Rogers on the final season of Charlie’s Angels in 1980, and Midge Pinciotti on That ’70s Show, collapsed on Christmas Eve, was put on a ventilator after being hospitalized, but never recovered.
Her rep, Mike Pingel, also issued a statement that she passed away at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles and the cause of death was not due to COVID-19.
But on Monday (January 4), Tanya’s rep retracted the statement upon learning the actress is still alive. He says he was informed of her alleged death on Sunday (January 3) by Lance O’Brien, who, according to various reports, is either Tanya’s boyfriend or husband. However, while Lance was being interviewed on TV by Inside Edition, he received a phone call from the hospital informing him that Tanya is still alive.
“The hospital is telling me she is alive. They are calling me from the ICU team,” Lance told the reporter.
On Monday (January 4), Mike confirmed to People that Lance “received a call from the hospital saying she was not dead” and that “she was alive at 10 a.m. this morning.” However, she’s still in “dire” condition and is still in the ICU.
“Currently, it’s not looking good… It’s very dire,” Mike said, adding, “Hold her in your prayers.”
Ashton Kutcher also went on Twitter to let his The 70s Show co-stars know.
“I was so sad to hear that Tanya Roberts has passed away. She was a Bond girl, one of Charlie’s Angels, and truly a delightful person to work with. I had never acted before and, to be honest, a little nervous around her. But she couldn’t have been kinder. We’ll miss you Midge,” Topher Grace tweeted early Monday morning, to which Ashton replied, “yo bro she’s not dead.”
Debra Jo Rupp also tweeted, “Tanya had a big deep hearty laugh. She was all instinct and beauty. In the first season of 70’s we had a scene in the kitchen, drinking cocktails and laughing together. She laughed, spit her drink in my face, apologized profusely and did it 3 more times.I loved her. RIP beauty.”
And Ashton hopped on Debra’s thread to write, “dj she’s still alive.”
It’s still not clear how the misunderstanding occurred.
Praying for Tanya’s recovery.
