Ashton Kutcher is getting very candid about the first time he declared his love to his now wife Mila Kunis.

The 44-year-old actor and his fellow That 70s Show alum married in 2015. And now, he is revealing that a little too much tequila plus a certain country song paved the way for him to first utter those three very important words to Mila.

Ashton shared the story when he had Kenny Chesney on his new Peloton series Our Future Selves, sharing that it was actually a song of Kenny’s that was part of that milestone moment. He said:

“The first time I told my wife that I love her was while listening to ‘You and Tequila.’

I might have had a little too much tequila.”

Ashton went on to say:

“I showed up drunk at her house, at like two in the morning, and I just started screaming, ‘You and tequila make me crazy.’

And I told her I love her.”

He said that Mila warned him then to not say something that he did not mean:

“She’s like, ‘Don’t say it if you don’t mean it. Are you gonna love me in the morning when you wake up from this hangover?’”

And yes, he did. Ashton sweetly said:

“I woke up the next morning and said, ‘I still love you.’”
