August Alsina doesn’t seem too thrilled about having the spotlight on his love life.
ICYMI, in a recent interview with Angela Yee – the 27-year-old claimed he and Jada Pinkett-Smith dated for years while she was married to Will Smith AND Will gave them his blessing. August also went on to say that he “deeply loved” Jada, and that Will and Jada’s marriage was an open one.
According to Capital Extra, August and Jada met through her son, Jaden – this was way back in 2015. August attended the BET Awards in 2017 with Jada, which began sparking dating rumors. Entertainment Tonight reports that the rumors circulated for some time – some fans even speculated that August’s 2019 song “Nunya” is about the actress.
On Friday (July 10), Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith had a heart-to-heart talk on her Facebook series Red Table Talk, where she confirmed that that she did have an “entanglement” with the August – it happened while she and her husband were separated.
“We were over,” she said. “From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August.”
“An entanglement? A relationship,” Will pressed.
“I was in a lot of pain and I was very broken,” she responded. “Now in the process of that relationship I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself.”
And when Will asked her what she was looking for with August at the time, she replied, “I just wanted to feel good. It had been so long since I had felt good.”
Jada also addressed August’s claims that Will gave them his blessing.
“The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself,” Jada said, adding, “I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s also not a home-wrecker. Which he’s not.”
Their relationship ended and she and Will have since reconciled. She also says she hasn’t spoken to August “in so long.”
Over the weekend, Keke Palmer spilled some tea about her past relationships on Twitter, which began when she responded to SZA’s tweet about “that time I caught my ex f–king my homegirl from the back at a house party.”
“Been there, except it was a man love. Now get into it,” Keke wrote.
Sudddenly, fans were trying to figure out who that ex was – and one particular fan brought up a photo of Keke and August in a car.
“Yes girl. August was never my man lol. That’s why you’re still reaching to this day to figure out nothing,” she responded.
August appears to have gotten wind about it because he suddenly chimed in and replied to Keke’s tweet: “U absolutely right.I was NEVER ur man. Face with raised eyebrowYou could possibly never shortie. It seems u mad u got curved, but ur “friends” r the reason 4 that.Dey showed me an endless thread of txt/pics of me dat u sent, wrry’d abt who i date &BEGGED me 2 not further disturb ur mental instability.”
“Imagine not knowing how to mind the business that pay you. I catch all the subliminals. (Not just about today) & you can call me whatever you like, Mess is constantly inserting yourself in topics you have nun to do w/. Go play w/ ya MAMMY! Not me!” he wrote in another tweet.
“If you have something to say, say it w/ ya CHEST kids. It’s always very perplexing cause I real deal be showing people genuine love. Whole time that envy eating ya lil heart. Anyway, NEXT!!” he continued, later adding, “I actually f–ked w/ KeKe. So to see her covertly speaking subliminal shade around my name over the past week Is deeply perplex. I don’t and never have had a problem w/ the girl. It’s always been Virgo love! So to see that is a mind f–k to me.”
Keke then went on Instagram to post this: “I wanna be mean, but I can’t. I want to post screenshots, but I won’t. I feel attacked, but It’s not about me. It’s about so much more than that and as much as I want to defend myself against the disrespect I have received (cause I mean I’m not nice all the time 😜) this is about something so much bigger. I wouldn’t feel good kicking someone when they are down because it’s so easy to attack when you’re in a corner, I get it. People be hurting y’all and most of the time it has nothing to do with you. I can’t f–k up my karma worried about my ego, though I’m human and I have one. Just know I am that b—h despite what my humility may make one believe. I don’t have to beg or be thirsty for a damn thing because my talent speaks louder than my looks. Let the cheek be turned pooh’s, my character is too strong.”
