Ayesha Curry debuted a new look over the weekend – and fans were definitely surprised.
The cookbook author went on Instagram to share a Boomerang clip of her new ‘do while in a car with husband NBA star Steph Curry. “Mom goes blonde (temporarily),” she captioned the clip.
The clip shows her rocking a platinum blonde lob, which had many fans doing a double take.
“Wait I was like who is this lady with Steph???!!!! Looks great!” one follower commented.
“GIRL I was like, WHO is this with Steph and where’s Ayesha?! I was mad for 0.4 seconds! You look great!” another wrote.
Some of her famous pals also praised the dramatic new look.
“Okkkkkk🔥🔥🔥,” Gabrielle Union wrote.
“Wow 🔥,” Christina Milian expressed.
“Beautiful,” Ciara commented.
But it seems not everyone on Twitter was happy about it – some accused her of trying to change her appearance.
However, Steph was totally supportive of his wife’s new look – and may have inadvertently let fans in on a fun fact.
“You beautiful baby,” he wrote. “And don’t you let anybody tell you differently ok? I mean it. There’s just a bunch of meanies out there and I don’t like it. I don’t like it one bit. Do you boo boo. P.S. If the wig falls off I won’t tell anybody, I promise. Pinky promise. It be hilarious though, but won’t anybody know. Wait — that’s been you in this bed the whole time??? I ain’t even know. Now I’m tripping.”
On Monday (October 19), Ayesha went on Twitter to clap back at her critics – and confirmed that the hair was just a wig (she did say “temporarily” in her caption). Plus,
“It’s the fun wig for a switch up and extremely common IG filter we all use from time to time for me… I just…” she wrote. “Y’all be taking this stuff wayyy to serious.”
Ayesha isn’t the only who’s been experimenting with new looks during the pandemic – from Miley Cyrus’ mullet, to Taylor Swift’s rainbow hair, and even Joe Jonas’ recent pink hair, more and more celebrities appear to be willing to try daring changes to their hair – and, there’s nothing wrong with a little experimentation.
