Beanie Feldstein has more bad news for those who wish to see her take on the role of Fanny Brice in Funny Girl on Broadway.
The 29-year-old actress has had to call out of her next four performances on the show because she has been diagnosed with tonsillitis. The news comes at the heels of her revealing just a week ago that she will be leaving the show early on July 31.
Beanie, who only has 20 shows remaining in her stint on the Broadway musical, took to social media to announce the unfortunate update to her fans.
In a video posted on Instagram, she said:
“Hey everybody, I’m just checking in. What have I missed? Um, what’s been going on?
I’ll start… I just got back from the ear, nose, and throat doctor, who told me that I have tonsillitis, which is extremely contagious and she cannot allow me to go back on stage through the weekend until I have enough antibiotics in my system to not be contagious anymore. The last thing I’d want on this earth is to get the people who i love sick and I’m just not allowed to go on stage through the weekend.
I cannot wait to do my last two weeks and you’ve just, you’ve gotta laugh at a certain point. When it rains, it pours, on your ‘ole pal Bee.”
Lea Michele will be taking over the highly-coveted role starting September 6.
