Bebe Rexha was the victim of an assault involving a flying phone from the crowd.

The 33-year-old “Meant To Be” superstar was hospitalized after she was hit by a flying phone from the crowd at the very end of their concert. She was performing “I’m Good (Blue)” at the time of the incident.

Upon being hit on the face by the phone, she collapsed to the ground and was seen grabbing her face as her team assisted her offstage.

Police issued a statement confirming that an individual had been taken into custody. The statement read:

“On Sunday, June 18, 2023 at approximately 2200 hours, police were notified of an assault that occurred at the concert space of Pier 17 located at 89 South Street, within the confines of the 1st Precinct.

A preliminary investigation on scene determined that a 27-year-old male intentionally threw a cell phone at a 33-year-old female performer on stage, striking her about the face. The individual was taken into custody on scene and removed to the 1st Precinct for arrest processing. The aided female was removed by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition. Arrest report still pending at this time.”

Shorty after, Bebe broke her silence on the incident. She took to social media to post two selfies on Instagram, which showed her injuries. She had a laceration above her swollen eye. Bebe captioned the post:

“I’m good.”

Since then, babes assailant has been charged. 27-year-old Nicolas Malvagna of new Jersey “has been charged with two counts of assault in the third degree; one count of harassment on the second degree; one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree; and one count of attempted assault in the third degree.”

He apparently confessed to throwing the phone and stated this as his reason for doing so:

“I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.”
