Over the past few days, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been spotted hanging out around Miami, Florida. And more and more fans are getting their hopes up about a possible Bennifer 2.0 – especially when Ben was spotted wearing what appears to be a throwback accessory loaded with sentimental meaning.
An eagle-eyed fan took to Twitter to point out how the watch Ben is wearing lately looks like the exact same watch he used to wear back when he and J.Lo were dating in the early 2000s.
“It’s the lil things…” the fan wrote alongside a side-by-side photo of Ben in Miami and Ben from 2002 on the set of J.Lo’s “Jenny From The Block” music video.
That wasn’t the only time that Ben was snapped wearing the watch when he and J.Lo dated previously – he was also wearing during a courtside date at a Lakers game in 2003.
Ben and J.Lo go way back – they were engaged in 2002. However, just one day before they were set to tie the knot in 2003, the postponed the wedding. By January of 2004, they officially called off their engagement.
After J.Lo and ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez parted ways in April, the two started sparking reconciliation rumors when the actor was snapped by paps outside J.Lo’s Los Angeles home. They’ve since gone on a days-long trip to Montana. And sources say the two continued to stay in touch everyday since.
Per E! News, Ben is really making an effort with J.Lo.
“Ben has been making the effort to make it work with their schedules,” a source told the outlet. “He’s really making a huge effort. J.Lo thinks Ben has really stepped up and loves this version of him. It’s comforting to her and she is smitten. They are giddy together and you can tell she’s really happy.”
The actor even reportedly took a red-eye flight to visit J.Lo in her Miami home.
“She looked very happy to see him and they walked around the property together so she could show him around,” said another source.
And the two were snapped hitting the gym on Monday, where they reportedly packed on the PDA.
“they were both working out, separately with different trainers,” a source told Page Six.
An eyewitness also tells the outlet that they were “affectionate and looking very much in love,” as they left the building.
With Ben wearing what looks to be the watch J.Lo gave him, fans are now wondering if J.Lo’s pink engagement ring will be making a return. Her former publicist Rob Shuter claimed, she never gave it back to him.
