Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been making headlines with their rumored rekindled romance for weeks. While there have been many sightings of the two of them out and about on dinner dates and vacays, it looks like the two are keeping their relationship status on the DL – and that includes some members of their family.
According to Ben’s dad, Timothy, his son hasn’t mentioned that he and his ex-fiancé were back on.
“Of course I’ve heard of her,” he said in an interview with The Sun. “But I’d no idea about any of this.”
However, the lack of communication may have something to do with the ongoing pandemic.
“I talk to my kids about their lives when I see them and they share with me what they want to share,” he shared, adding, “I haven’t seen my kids in so long, what with their work and Covid.”
As for sources’ claims that Ben has been secretly carrying a torch of J.Lo throughout the years, Timothy said, “I’ve never heard of all that nonsense.”
He also talked about the pressures that Ben faced in the industry. “A huge corporate enterprise – which Hollywood is – by its nature is a tough place to make your way and for a global star, which Ben was, it’s even harder.”
He went on to call attention to Ben’s philanthrophic works – particularly his charity in Congo, which was launched back in 2010. “I just wish people would focus on the good work my son does in Congo – the women he helps there,” he told the outlet.
“There are important stories the media should be reporting like that, not this nonsense [about Jennifer],” Timothy added.
