Beyonce rang in the new year with a special message for the Beyhive – and a four-minute video recap of her 2020, which included never-before-seen footage of her and Jay-Z’s three kids: Blue Ivy, and twins Sir and Rumi.
Queen Bey dropped the video on Instagram on January 1, 2021, which featured highlights of her projects in the past year – like the new Ivy Park collection, her stunning British Vogue covers, Black Is King, her “Savage Remix” collab with Megan Thee Stallion, plus leading the 2021 GRAMMY Awards nominations. Then, there’s BeyGood foundation supporting Black-owned business and others amid the coronavirus pandemic shutdowns, and, of course, the powerful and impactful speeches she delivered for graduating students and healthcare workers and many other memorable moments.
But Beyonce’s 2020 wasn’t all about work. She also got to spend quality time with her kids – and fans couldn’t help but gush over the adorable videos of her kids that made it on the reel. At one point, Rumi was totally jamming to “Savage Remix” as she rode in a golf cart with her twin and her mom. There’s also a sweet interaction and outtakes from their photoshoot together.
Fans also get a glimpse of Blue recording a song in the studio – she’s received a nomination for best music video for Bey’s “Brown Skin Girl” in the upcoming 63rd Grammy Awards, making her one of the youngest Grammy nominees in history
“Cheers to a New Year Beyhive!! 🎆🎊 2020 divided us and united us. Most could not see loved ones and we felt too many losses, but we were united by our humanity,” she wrote in the caption. “This year for me has been about celebrating joy, chasing happiness, and living in love.”
“As we all look forward and pray for new beginnings, my wish for you is that you honor yourself and those you love. Celebrate that you are an important individual who contributes to our beautiful collective,” she continued, concluding, “Here’s to a better and brighter 2021! Love, B.”
