The couple, who tied the knot on October 10, 2023, are now embroiled in a contentious split, with Billy Ray laying out serious accusations against his estranged wife.
The court documents filed on Tuesday (June 18) offer a glimpse into the tumultuous relationship and the reasons behind Billy Ray’s dissatisfaction with the marriage. Here are the key points from the filings:
He Accuses Firerose of Lying About Her Past
Billy Ray claims that Firerose misled him about her past marital status. According to him, Firerose told him she had never been married before. However, he later discovered that she had been previously married, and that her last name, “Hodges,” was actually her former married name and not her birth name. This revelation has apparently shattered his trust, leading him to question the foundation of their relationship.
He Accuses Her of Wanting to Have the “Cyrus” Last Name
In the documents obtained by Page Six, Billy Ray accuses Firerose of intentionally committing fraud to marry him and acquire the “Cyrus” surname. He claims that Firerose’s desire to take on his last name was a significant factor in her decision to marry him. He states that if he had known the truth about her past, he would not have entered into the marriage. “He would not have entered the bonds of matrimony … because he did not actually know the true person that she was,” the documents state.
He Accuses Her of Isolating Him From Family
Billy Ray alleges that Firerose conducted a deliberate campaign to isolate him from his family. He claims she went so far as to block at least one of his daughters from contacting him on his phone. Fans speculate that one of the daughters mentioned could be Miley Cyrus, especially considering rumors of estrangement between Miley and her father. Miley notably omitted Billy Ray from her Grammy acceptance speech earlier this year. “I miss you more than I can possibly explain in words Baby. Please let’s work this out and not become anything but closer out of this hellish experience. I need you. I love you. I am so sorry.”
In an alleged text message, Firerose poured her heart out, expressing her deep sorrow and longing for reconciliation:
“I am listening to you Baby. I love you. I don’t want us to be on different sides fighting a war that nobody wins. I am going to do what you’re telling me because you promise me we can talk as soon as I’ve left and I trust you. I’m praying with my entire soul that we can find each other again today. I feel completely lost & miss you more than I can explain. And you will know I’m listening to and showing you with my actions. We need to be kind and loving to each other no matter what happens. You have been my best friend in the world every day for over 4 years. 24/7. I miss you terribly. My heart is shattered & I need my best friend right now more than ever. I lost 5lbs since Wednesday. I just can’t eat no matter how much I try. I don’t want to live without you. Please give me a chance to make this right. I can explain everything but I need you on my side. I need my Hero back.”
Firerose has claimed that Billy Ray surprised her with the divorce papers just before she was scheduled to undergo major surgery.
