Britney Spears is literally doing cartwheels – and going horseback riding – to celebrate a new development in her ongoing conservatorship case.

On Wednesday (July 14), Judge Brenda Penny, the judge presiding over her conservatorship case, granted the 39-year-old performer permission to hire her own lawyer – Mathew Rosengart, a prominent Hollywood lawyer and former federal prosecutor.

Britney went on Instagram to share her gratitude for all the support she’s received since giving her testimony in court on June 23.

Posting video clips of her riding a horse and doing cartwheels in a park soundtracked by KT Tunstall’s “Black Horse And The Cherry Tree,” Britney began the caption with, “Coming along, folks … coming along.”

“New with real representation today … I feel GRATITUDE and BLESSED !!!!” she continued. “Thank you to my fans who are supporting me … You have no idea what it means to me be supported by such awesome fans !!!! God bless you all !!!!!”

“This is me celebrating by horseback riding and doing cartwheels today 🤸‍♂️🤷‍♀️🐎 !!!!” she explained, concluding her post with the hashtag “#FreeBritney.”

While the #FreeBritney hashtag has become increasingly popular among her fans and supporters over the past few years, it’s believed that this is the first time Britney herself has used it on social media.

Britney’s post has gotten a lot of love from fans and fellow celebrities alike.

“YOU ARE SO VERY LOVED AND SUPPORTED,” Ariana Grande wrote in the comments.

“Internet is about to explode #FreeBritney,” Britney’s boyfriend, Sam Asghari, wrote.

Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean also voiced his support for the popstar in a recent interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.

“My thoughts and my prayers are with her. I am 100 percent team Britney,” he shared on the radio show.

During her appearance in the court hearing on June 23, Britney gave an explosive testimony, calling her conservatorship “abusive” and made it clear that she wanted her conservatorship to end, but does not want to be evaluated again. She also requested for the right to be able to hire her own attorney.

Earlier this month, her court-appointed lawyer of 13 years, Samuel Ingham, as well as her co-court appointed counsel, Loeb & Loeb LLP, asked to resign from the conservatorship “effective upon the appointment of new counsel.”

Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, has since asked the court to let the singer hire her own non-court-appointed lawyer of her choosing. Jodi Montgomery, Britney’s temporary conservator of her person, also filed a petition to the court as Britney’s guardian to appoint a third party “for the limited purpose of assisting her in the selection of private counsel to represent her in these pending conservatorship proceedings.”

According to The New York Times, Britney was reportedly telling others that she wanted to take “a far more aggressive legal approach.”

Legal expert Rachel Stockman believes Matthew Rosengart is a “great choice” for Britney’s legal representation.

“He has a lot of experience, he’s dealt with celebrity cases before, and I think he would be a vigorous advocate for Britney Spears,” Rachel shared, per ET.
