ARMY, the countdown begins now: BTS is officially coming back.
After a two-year hiatus to fulfill South Korea’s mandatory military service, all seven members of the global phenomenon reunited for a special livestream on Weverse on July 1—and they brought major news. The K-pop superstars confirmed they’ll be returning in spring 2026 with a brand-new group album and a world tour.
“We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year,” the group announced during the livestream, which marked their first joint broadcast since September 2022. According to Variety, more than 7.3 million fans tuned in live.
“Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.”
The excitement doesn’t stop at just the music. BTS also teased their return to the stage—on a massive scale.
“We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album,” they continued. “We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”
It’s been a long pause for BTS fans, who last saw the group perform together during their record-shattering “Permission to Dance on Stage” tour. That tour drew over 4 million attendees globally and only fueled anticipation for what the group might do next.
Although an exact date hasn’t been confirmed, an earlier report suggested that BTS could return as early as March 2026. Recording for the new album is set to begin in the U.S. this August.
This marks a monumental new chapter for BTS—Jungkook, V, Jimin, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, and RM—as they prepare to return to the global stage with fresh music, renewed energy, and the full force of seven reunited members.
