Cardi B has made it official – she’s very much still a married woman.
Last month, the “WAP” rapper filed for divorce from husband, Offset, in Fulton County, Georgia and a hearing has been set for November 4.
She’s also opened up about the reason for the split – and she shut down rumors that Offset had cheated on her and is expecting a child with another woman.
“Nothing crazy out of this world happened. Sometimes people really do f–king grow apart.” she said in an Instagram Live.
“Every single time that this guy has been so crazy, so f–ked up and it hits the media, I’m always crying, always sad because I don’t like that type of s–t,” she admitted. “This time, I wasn’t crying. You want to know why? The reason for my divorce is not because of none of that s–t that ever happened before. It’s not because of cheating.”
“I’m seeing people be like, ‘Oh, he has a baby on the way,’” she explained. “That’s a whole f–king complete lie. That’s the second time people are trying to pin babies over here. No, that’s bulls–t. I been with this man for four years. I have a kid with this man, I have a household with this man… sometimes you’re just tired of the arguments and the build up. You get tired sometimes and before something happens, you leave.”
But, during her birthday bash in Vegas last weekend, she and Offset were caught on camera kissing, which prompted speculations that the estranged couple may be on their way to a reconciliation.
On Thursday (October 15), Cardi confirmed in an Instagram Story that she and Offset were back together, explaining, “Listen y’all, I’m just a crazy bi—. You know how I be arguing with y’all on social media? That’s exactly how we are, between me and my man. So when people be saying I be doing sh– for attention, with this and that, no, I’m just a crazy bi—. “
“It’s hard not to talk to your best friend. You know what I’m saying? It’s really hard not to talk to your best friend,” she said. She described the two of them as “two young motherf–kers that got married early,” continuing, “That’s just what we are. We’re no different than y’all’s dysfunctional a– relationships. We’re the same way. We’re just more public.”
Cardi received a special gift from Offset for her birthday – a $300,000 Rolls Royce, and an $8,000 embroidered car seat for their two-year-old daughter, Kulture. There were also speculations that Offset’s lavish gifts included the billboard featuring her and two-year-old daughter Kulture in matching pink outfits, which read, “Happy Birthday Mommy Love, Kulture” that Cardi posted on her Instagram.
The reconciliation prompted some critics to call out Cardi for being materialistic, to which she responded, “People been saying that I took him back like I’m materialistic. I do like material things, I like material things and everything, but I just didn’t… What do you want me to do? The n—a gave me a Rolls-Royce and I snub him? And I really wanted some di– for my birthday.”
Billboard reports that “the divorce case is still open” and that “it’s unclear where the filing stands now.”
Cardi and Offset’s reps are yet to respond to requests for comment.
