Cardi B is more than ready to rock 2019.
The rapper has a lot of exciting projects lined up for this year!
On Wednesday (January 23), the Palms Casino Resort announced that the “Bodak Yellow” rapper will be setting up her first-ever residency as part of the debut for KAOS, which the resort boasts as “Vegas’ biggest club.”
Las Vegas residencies seem to be all the rage with artists nowadays. Celine Dion, Elton John, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Lady Gaga, Aerosmith, Lady Antebellum are just some of the stars who have had or are currently holding performances in Vegas.
Now, even Cardi B is in on it. And, according to the Kaos’ website, G-Eazy, Kaskade, Above & Beyond and Skrillex will also have residencies at the venue.
This news comes just weeks after she revealed her plans to release a new album this year.
“Of course it’s gonna be an album in 2019,” she stated on her Instagram Live on New Year’s Day. “Hopefully, I could get my album done around the same time that Invasion of Privacy came out, but I don’t know how possible that’s gonna be because I feel like I’m going to be extremely, extremely busy.”
Extremely, extremely busy? Was she hinting at the residency then? Or was she talking about something else, like starring in a Pepsi commercial with a Super Bowl spot?
On Wednesday (January 23), Cardi has unveiled a quick six-second teaser for her upcoming Pepsi ad that will air during Super Bowl.
Lil Jon and Steve Carell have also appeared in teasers of their own.
Aside from the football championship game, Super Bowl Sunday has become known for its much-talked about commercials. Companies have been known for pulling out all the stops when it comes to their promos during the Super Bowl – there have also been teasers with snippets of promos featuring Chance the Rapper and the Backstreet Boys, Michael Buble and Michael C. Hall.
So, before we see her hit the stage in Vegas, it seems we’ll be seeing Cardi on our TV screens during Super Bowl first.
Starring in a commercial, landing a Las Vegas residency, and coming out with a new album. Looks like 2019 is off to a good start for the “I Like It” rapper. You go, girl!
