Cardi B and Offset’s romance has been through many ups and downs. The pair is among the most high-profile couples in the music scene, and their highs and lows have certainly been well-documented in the public eye.
Now, in a clip from the premiere episode of The Jason Lee Show, Cardi is sharing how the Migos rapper “fought” for their family after she filed for divorce back in 2020.
Cardi told host Jason Lee:
“Me and Offset, we was not seeing eye to eye. This was like, the same year I filed for divorce and everything.”
Her divorce case against Offset was “dismissed without prejudice” in November of that year, just a little over a month after she filed for divorce that September. In her initial filing, she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.
The mother of two insisted that Offset would be the one to share his side of the story:
“I’m gonna let him talk about this because the main thing that was really bothering me — I’ma let him say it. I want him to say it, because I feel like that’s really part of his story.”
She went on to say that he fought for their family at the time, declaring:
“The main thing that I wanted him to stop and everything, he stopped and he changed, and it showed me that he wanted to change for me.”
