Cardi B has taken a plea deal in her 2018 strip club brawl case.
On Thursday (September 15), the “I Like It” rapper appeared in New York court, where she pled guilty to third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment. Those are both misdemeanors. She was initially indicted on 12 charges — which included two felonies.
As part of her plea deal, Cardi’s remaining 10 charge were dismissed. She has been sentenced to 15 days of community service.
Cardi has also been ordered to stay away from two of the victims via a three-year protection order.
She released a statement to outlets, telling ET:
“Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions. As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instill in my children, but the example starts with me.
I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to. These moments don’t define me and they are not reflective of who I am now.
I’m looking forward to moving past this situation with my family and friends and getting back to the things I love the most – the music and my fans.”
In August of 2018, Cardi was involved In a brawl at Angels Strip Club in Queens. The rapper and her entourage were said to have thrown chairs, bottles and a hookah pipe toward bartenders. Two of the bartenders were allegedly injured.
