Friends, co-stars and fans honored Cameron Boyce on would’ve been 21st birthday (Thursday, May 28).
His close friend and Descendants co-star, Dove Cameron, paid tribute to the late actor by honoring his passion for philanthropy, teaming up with the Cameron Boyce Foundation for a birthday fundraiser – a T-shirt campaign for its Wielding Peace initiative, aimed to fight gun violence. A portion of the profits will also be donated to The Actors Fund’s COVID-19 Emergency Relief.
“Cameron was a light,” Dove said, talking about the campaign (vie People). “Every year on his birthday he did something to give back, and this year, The Cameron Boyce Foundation is honoring his legacy by continuing that tradition on what would have been his 21st birthday. I could not be more proud to support this cause for my friend, whom I miss every day.”
“I am so honored to be a part of this incredible organization in support of my cherished friend, and I encourage everyone to please go and purchase it so that we can continue to advocate to end gun violence, fund epilepsy research and contribute to ending the global water crisis,” Cameron added.
Dove says the T-Shirt’s design – a gun with flowers in the barrel – was inspired by the tattoo she got to remember Cameron.
His Descendants co-stars Sofia Carson and Booboo Stewart took to Instagram to remember Cameron.
Booboo helped raise awareness for the T-Shirt campaign and wished his friend, “Happy birthday man, love you.”
Sofia shared a photo of her and Cameron embracing, writing, “What I would do to hold you this tight today. But I know you’re dancing in heaven. Happy Birthday My Cam. I miss you, forever. I love you, forever.”
Descendants director Kenny Ortega also remembered Cameron with a video montage of his onscreen roles. “Happy Birthday Cam ❤️ I celebrate your incredible imagination, heart, and soul! Your wit, intelligence, talent, and energy were second to none. I see you in all things beautiful, loving, giving, and kind. Your spirit is ever present. Your legacy lives on in every creative thought, artistic expression, and act of kindness,” he wrote on Instagram, and urged fans to make a donation to the Cameron Boyce Foundation in honor of the late actor.
Several other celebs also shared their own memories of Cameron, remembering him on his special day.
Skai Jackson remembered how Cameron would celebrate his birthday by doing something charitable and urged fans to celebrate his birthday “in a meaningful way”.
“Happy birthday Cam, we all miss you! 💜,” she concluded her post.
“Today would’ve been Cams 21st birthday. Love you Libby, Victor, and Maya,” Peyton List captioned a throwback photo.

Cameron’s mom, Libby also shared a video on Cameron Boyce Foundation’s IG, thanking fans who donated for helping them reach their goal amount of $50,000.
“Everybody, I’m just reading all the notes on the Cameron Boyce Foundation page of all of the comments with the donations and I am just really blown away,” Libby said in the video. “Really blown away by all the amazing comments and how many people loved Cameron.”
“You know, I just really wanted to say thank you and it’s so appreciated and we really will be doing amazing things so his death is not in vain,” she continued. “Thank you.”
