Love is in the air!
Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger tied the knot on Saturday (June 8) in a romantic and intimate ceremony at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California.
Chris shared the happy news on Instagram a day after the wedding with a photo of the two of them looking all fab in wedding attire and looking lovingly into each others’ eyes.
“Yesterday was the best day of our lives!” the Guardians Of The Galaxy star began his caption. “We became husband and wife in front of God, our families and those we love. It was intimate, moving and emotional. We feel so blessed to begin this new chapter of our lives.”
“We are so thankful to our families and our friends who stood with us,” he continued, adding, “and grateful to Mr. Giorgio Armani who created a once in a lifetime dress for Katherine to wear and for me, the perfect suit. This morning we feel nothing but blessed.”
This is Chris’ second trip down the aisle. He and ex-wife Anna Faris were married for eight years before going their separate ways in 2017. They share a six-year-old son named Jack.
Chris and Katherine started sparking romance rumors in June 2018, after several sightings together. They became Instagram official last December and dropped the news of their engagement in January. They made their red carpet debut in April at the Avengers: Endgame premiere.
“They know this all happened so fast but it just feels right. At the party she told an old friend that Chris is her soulmate,” a source told ET.
According to People, the bride’s and grooms’ family and friends were there to celebrate the couple’s union – including Chris’ son, Jack and Katherine’s family (parents Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, and siblings Patrick, Christina and Christopher). Chris’ Parks and Recreations co-star, Rob Lowe, was also there and brought along sons Johnny and Matthew.
A source tells ET that having the wedding in Montecito was Katherine’s idea.
“It was absolutely picturesque and you could just feel that everyone was just excited to be there,” the source says. “It was Katherine’s idea to have it in Montecito. She knew the location and showed Chris and he fell in love with it too. Katherine thought it was a good idea to have it in Montecito because it’s so centrally located. A place where everyone in the family could easily attend.”
And it gets dreamier.
According to E! News, they exchanged their vows for about 20 minutes, while a string quartet played “All Of Me” (the John Legend song) and “What A Wonderful World.” Then, after they said “I do,” they headed to a private cottage to take photos.
“The couple wanted to keep it simple, but have the most important people in their lives there,” a source told ET.
Another ET source shared that, “Their families both clearly support their marriage. And as tough as Arnold Schwarzenegger seems, he was actually tearing up during the ceremony. Rob Lowe and Katherine’s brother, Patrick, were chatting about how happy they were for the newlyweds.”
Congratulations to the happy couple.
