Chris Pratt may be living a “dreamy life,” but there are still some “downsides.”
The 42-year-old actor has had a very busy couple of years – he’s been working on projects back-to-back, from filming his upcoming sci-fi film The Tomorrow War in Iceland in 2019 to filming Jurassic World: Dominion in London for several months last year, and even heading Down Under for a bit to film Thor: Ragnarok earlier this year.
He has been away from home a lot, filming on location. Luckily, Katherine and his eight-year-old son Jack, whom he shares with ex Anna Faris, were able to fly to Iceland during the production of The Tomorrow Land – he loves “being able to have them visit.”
“It was very nice being able to have her with me on this job. It’s really, really great,” Chris shared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “She takes such good care of me.”
“That’s one of the very few downsides of having this sort of dreamy life and this career is just the distance away from home,” he told the outlet. “You’re on location a lot, and I’m very blessed with Katherine because she’s an author, and so she can do her work on the road.”
As for Jack, he’s no stranger to visiting his dad’s movie sets.
“He’s been to a ton of sets,” Chris shared. “He’s got it down. We hooked him up in the harness and had him flying around the set… he was fighting some aliens, shooting some lasers out of his hand. He has a good time on set.”
It appears Chris and Katherine are getting ready to slow things down a little this summer and spend some family bonding time.
According to a PEOPLE source, the couple reportedly rented a summer home in Montecito, California – the very place where they got married in 2019.
“They both love Montecito,” the source tells the outlet. “They celebrated their wedding anniversary there earlier this month and and rented a house so they can spend the summer there. Kat is very happy to be out of L.A. for the summer. They plan on spending a lot of family time together.”
Just this month, Chris and Katherine celebrated several special occasions and milestones – like their second wedding anniversary (June 8), their first Father’s Day (June 20) with daughter Lyla, and his 42nd birthday (June 21). And they have more celebrations to look forward to in the coming months – namely, Jack’s ninth birthday and Lyla’s first, which are both happening in August.
“Their birthdays are in August, he’s gonna be nine and she’ll be a year old,” Chris told ET earlier this month. “He’s really great with her. He just loves her. He’s so gentle and sweet.”
