Chris Pratt isn’t holding back when it comes to calling out bad behavior on set. The 45-year-old actor, known for his roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, made an appearance at the 2024 New York Comic Con to promote his upcoming Netflix sci-fi movie, The Electric State. While discussing the film, Pratt touched on a topic that seems to hit close to home – people with bad attitudes in the workplace.
During the panel, Pratt made it clear that a negative attitude can be a real downer for everyone involved in making a film. “You can’t have a bad… you can’t have a bad attitude in moviemaking, it ruins everything for everyone, and then you don’t last long,” he stated firmly. “It sucks when people have a crappy attitude. So when you show up on set, there’s no reason why you should… Like, ‘Oh, are you having a hard time living your dream? Is that tough for you today?’ Like, come on and pull your head out.”
Pratt’s no-nonsense take on professionalism clearly resonated with the crowd, as he spoke from years of experience working with some of Hollywood’s biggest names. He stressed the importance of enjoying the job and having fun, especially in an industry where everyone is essentially fulfilling their dream.
However, the actor didn’t dwell solely on the negative. He went out of his way to praise his The Electric State co-star, Millie Bobby Brown, for her work ethic and positive energy on set. “And she’s just incredible,” Pratt said, clearly impressed with the young actress’s attitude. “She was surrounded by all these animals. They would yell cut, and she’d go to her home, and she’s finding a home for, like, some pygmy goat to be adopted and organizing a U-Haul full of pit bull puppies to be taken to Indiana. Like she has such a huge heart, such a love for animals.”
It seems Pratt and Brown hit it off during the filming of The Electric State, as he affectionately joked about their friendship, saying, “We became fast friends, and you can’t get rid of me. Sorry.”
Pratt’s admiration for Brown wasn’t just about her work on set but also her passion for helping animals off-set. His remarks show a genuine appreciation for someone who not only excels at their job but also uses their platform to make a positive impact.
The Electric State, set in an alternate version of the 1990s after a robot uprising, follows an orphaned teenager (played by Brown) on a journey across the American West, accompanied by a smuggler, his sidekick, and a cartoon-inspired robot in search of her younger brother. Pratt’s character joins a star-studded cast that includes Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Giancarlo Esposito, and Stanley Tucci, among others. The film is set to premiere globally on March 14, 2025.
As Pratt’s career continues to soar, his emphasis on keeping things fun and staying grounded is likely part of why he remains a fan favorite. His charisma, both on and off-screen, continues to shine, and it’s clear that when it comes to making movies, he believes that attitude really is everything.
