Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have suffered a terrible loss.

Back in August, the couple revealed that they were expecting their third child and Chrissy has kept fans updated about her pregnancy journey on social media. Over the weekend, Chrissy revealed that she’d been hospitalized due to pregnancy complications.

Sadly, Chrissy and John lost their baby boy, whom they’ve named Jack. Chrissy shared the heartbreaking news with an emotional post on Instagram.

“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.

We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.

To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.

Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.

We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”

John also shared the heartbreaking statement on Twitter, adding, “We love you, Jack 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤”

Chrissy later went on Twitter, writing, “Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real.”

The couple’s friends and fans showed their love and support and offered their condolences on social media.

“We’re always here for you and love you guys so much,” Kim Kardashian-West commented.

“We love you guys so much and we will be here for whatever y’all need. Always,” Gabrielle Union wrote.

“My heart breaks for you and John,” Paris Hilton shared. “I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family so much love.”

“I am so sorry to hear this news. Sending you all love,” Kyle Richards commented, promising to “say a special prayer for Jack tonight.”

“We love you and are here for you and your family,” Charlie Puth wrote.

“I am so sorry angel momma. I am so sorry. This grief. This grief. It will hold you and the love will break through. I am so sorry . Your family. 🖤 You. Love you. My deepest sympathies,” Selma Blair wrote.

“So very sorry Chrissy and John. A big virtual hug of love, love, love…and more…🙏🏿🙏🏿💛💛” Viola Davis shared.

“We are so deeply sorry and sending you guys all our love, strength, support, light and mañana. No more words. D&L ❤️,” Dwayne Johnson wrote.

Chrissy has been open with fans about her complicated pregnancy – from being put to bed rest to the constant bleeding which led to her hospitalization.

“It’s just hard because there’s not much you can do. I’m in that weird in-between time of it being really dangerous to try anything. Basically if I can make it through the next few weeks, if little boy can make it through the next few weeks, then, you know, we can go from there and be able to kind of get through the danger zone or whatever. But we have to get through this first. So yeah, it is scary. But it’s scary in the way that there’s just really nothing to do.”

Sending love and prayers to John and Chrissy during this difficult time.
