Chrissy Teigen has been going through a pretty complicated pregnancy – and things took a “scary” turn over the weekend.
The expecting mom went on Instagram Story on Sunday (September 27) to give an update to her fans about why she spent the night at the hospital.
“We all know I’ve been on bed rest for a few weeks,” Chrissy said. “And that’s super serious bed rest, like get up to quickly pee and that’s it. I take baths twice a week, no showering… I was always, always bleeding. I’m about halfway through pregnancy and blood has been going for a month. So, like, maybe a little less than a month. We’re talking more than your period, girls, but definitely not spotting. A lot of people spot and it’s usually fine.”
“Every time I’d go to the bathroom it would be blood, but honestly, just laying there would be blood,” she continued. “But today, the big difference was that it kind of was like you were to turn a faucet on to low and leave it there. It’s so weird because I feel really good. I’m usually at my happiest pregnant, mood-wise. I feel happier than I do not pregnant. That’s why it’s so hard for me to come to terms with [the situation]… It was at the point today where it was never stopping bleeding.”
“It’s just hard because there’s not much you can do. I’m in that weird in-between time of it being really dangerous to try anything,” she added. “Basically if I can make it through the next few weeks, if little boy can make it through the next few weeks, then, you know, we can go from there and be able to kind of get through the danger zone or whatever. But we have to get through this first. So yeah, it is scary. But it’s scary in the way that there’s just really nothing to do.”
And she also asked her fans in the medical profession to refrain from offering advice, saying it only adds to her anxiety.
“The most unhelpful thing is when I get suggestions from medical Twitter and Instagram… because all it does is make me feel really anxious and nervous and like I did something wrong,” Chrissy said. “If you are a doctor, I cannot express enough how badly I would like for you to stop your guessing games or Twitter pleas to figure out what I’m doing wrong or diagnosing me via Twitter. I’ve seen it all. You have to trust me that I have very good doctors who know what they’re doing, who know the entire story.”
“There’s so much more than you can ever imagine. I share a lot, but not absolutely everything. So trust me when I say they know and I just want to keep things so simple for you guys,” she continued.
“In the simplest of terms, we can say my placenta is really, really weak,” Chrissy added. “I feel really good. The baby is so healthy, growing stronger than Luna or Miles. He moves a lot. He moves so much earlier than they ever did… he’s so different than they were. He’s strong. I’m so excited for him because he’s so wonderful, the strongest little dude. But basically, he’s the strongest coolest dude in the sh-ttiest house. His house is just falling apart. It didn’t have a good foundation to begin with.”
Talking to the little baby boy growing inside her, she told him, “Anyhow, little dude. I want to show you all these when you come out, little butthead. I love you. Mommy loves you so, so much, you butt. I love you.”
Chrissy’s hubby, John Legend, stayed with her in the hospital room. She even documented him making her a sandwich on IG Story. The pregnant model and cookbook author announced that they were expecting their third child last month, with a surprise reveal in the music video for John’s new song with Gary Clark Jr., “Wild.”
She also previously opened up about how this pregnancy is her most challenging yet – she’s been put on “super serious bed rest times,” and is “Just trying to be as healthy as possible.”
“It’s a bit of a difficult pregnancy. I feel good though,” she said. “I will say I’m probably being punished for talking so much about how great the first two went. I was like, ‘Oh yeah, pregnancy’s awesome!’ But now I get it. I get anyone that thinks it’s not so awesome, but very happy to be carrying this baby.”
Sha also gave fans on Twitter an update, sharing that she’s “Been in bed for all but 5 mins of the last 24 hours. Here til next Tuesday. Lord it’s kind of crappier than it sounds. On punishment for saying the first two pregnancies were easy peasy.”
Feel better soon, Chrissy!
