She’s baaaack!
It’s been three weeks since Chrissy Teigen announced that she was quitting Twitter – three weeks without her various meal updates, epic clapbacks, getting into fights with strangers, and other Chrissy-isms.
But her followers can now rejoice, because the unofficial Queen Of Twitter has returned to the social media platform.
According to her: “turns out it feels TERRIBLE to silence yourself and also no longer enjoy belly chuckles randomly throughout the day and also lose like 2000 friends at once lol.”
“I choose to take the bad with the good!!” she added.
And when prompted by a fan to share any amusing anecdotes, she hilariously shared that “I’ve spent weeks just saying tweets to shampoo bottles.”
LOL!
Chrissy has been pretty much ruling on Twitter since 2009. After more than a decade of engaging with fans on the platform, she announced that she was quitting Twitter on March 24.
“Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends,” Chrissy began her series of tweets.
“But it’s time for me to say goodbye,” she continued. “This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.”
“My life goal is to make people happy,” Chrissy went on. “The pain I feel when I don’t is too much for me. I’ve always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I’m just not. My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn’t sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as! Live well, tweeters. Please know all I ever cared about was you!!!”
“I encourage you to know and never forget that your words matter. No matter what you see, what that person portrays, or your intention,” she tweeted. “For years I have taken so many small, 2-follower count punches that at this point, I am honestly deeply bruised.”
“I have made my mistakes, throughout years and in front of hundreds of thousands, and been held accountable for them. I’ve learned an incredible amount here,” Chrissy wrote. “God I have said f–ked up s–t and killed myself over it as much as you killed me. But one thing I haven’t learned is how to block out the negativity.”
She concluded her message writing, “I’m just a sensitive s–t, okay!? I don’t wanna be this way! I just am! But I love you guys and I cherish our time together, I truly do. I also hate you,” – but with a “<3″ at the end.
She deactivated her Twitter account shortly after – but continued to share updates with fans on Instagram. And for those three weeks, it didn’t seem like she even missed Twitter at all. But, apparently, she did. She really did.
Glad to have you back, Chrissy!
