After nearly a decade together, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially called it quits.
Following weeks of speculation, a source confirmed to People that the couple has ended their engagement. While they haven’t shared personal statements, an insider say the split was amicable. “They got to a point where they feel there is no going back to a healthy relationship and that it’s better to live separate lives,” they shared.
The news comes as both stars find themselves in different corners of the world. Katy, 40, is currently touring in Australia for her Lifetimes tour, while Orlando, 48, is in Italy for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s high-profile wedding—solo.
TMZ was among the first to suggest that Bloom’s appearance alone at the Bezos wedding was a telling sign of a split. The couple’s love story began in 2016, with a brief break in 2017. They got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020. Despite this long commitment, they never married.
According to the insider, the demands of Perry’s career also played a role. “She’s felt a lot of pressure about her tour and now this. It’s been a lot for her. She’s still doing great though,” the source added.
While fans continue to hold out hope for a reconciliation, no official announcements have been made by either Perry or Bloom. And although it’s unclear what the future holds, for now, they seem focused on their individual lives and careers.
