After more than 17 years of marriage, Courtney Ford and Brandon Routh are officially calling it quits.

The Dexter actress, 46, filed for divorce from the Superman Returns star, 45, on Wednesday, January 8, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to court documents obtained by TMZ. While Ford did not list a date of separation, her filing requests joint legal and physical custody of their 12-year-old son, Leo.

In addition to custody, Ford is seeking spousal support but has asked the court to deny any request for spousal support from Routh. Neither party has publicly commented on their decision to part ways.

Ford and Routh tied the knot on November 24, 2007, in what many saw as a true Hollywood love story. The pair not only built a life together but also worked alongside each other on-screen. From 2016 to 2022, they starred in The CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, bringing their real-life chemistry to the small screen.

Despite their success in balancing personal and professional lives for years, their relationship has come to an end, marking a significant shift for the couple.

Although they’ve yet to comment publicly, their shared history on-screen and off will continue to be a significant part of their story. As the saying goes, endings are just new beginnings—both for their individual lives and their roles as parents to Leo.

This marks the conclusion of a nearly two-decade-long chapter, but it’s clear that both Ford and Routh remain committed to prioritizing their son’s well-being in the process.
